A Party Photo Album

Beneath the haze of crimson lights and wisps of fragrant smoke, a giant mass of party people undulated and twirled their bodies to the throbbing beats of hip hop and techno jams.

The orkut.com First Anniversary Party last Saturday was a bash for the ages. More than 1,000 orkut members and their friends showed up to dance the night away in San Francisco. The sights and sounds will not soon be forgotten. Orkut the man, dressed in a silver, sequined shirt, arrived via limo with his close friends in tow. And, as you can see from the photos below by Nathan Schmidt, the dance floor was hoppin'.

Most importantly, the party raised lots of money for Camp Amelia, an international nonprofit organization that helps children throughout the world get a step up in life through technology and education.

In all, the night fulfilled orkut.com's mission to create a closer, more intimate network of friends. Some might say that calls for another party.

Stay beautiful,
Gavin Tachibana

Great Video, but Flags Remind Him of Nazi Germany
re: America Stands As One: The Exclusive Interview

Hello,

I never watch videos of music, but my daughter sent me this one.

I was an opera singer and I still sing classical music, mainly at mass. However, I loved your video and I took it seriously. Some might be cynical, but that would be their problem. The Fishers were against the war in Iraq and we marched against it. We also worked for Kerry, but sadly our citizens continue to die in the armed services around the world. I find the video a call to avoid war, although there is no attempt to influence the viewer in that direction. It was better to keep the message simple and pure. I am sick of seeing American flags, however. They remind me of the thousands of swastikas Hitler plastered all over Germany when he had rallies and parades. It brings forth disturbing images to my mind.

Thanks,
Earl Fisher
